La vocation de XO Editions, lancée en 2000, est à la fois simple et ambitieuse. Simple parce qu'il s'agit de publier peu de livres, afin de prendre le temps de s'en occuper ; ambitieuse, car XO Editions souhaite toucher un large public, tant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur des frontières françaises.

Pari tenu : dix ans après, 152 titres publiés, 130 ayant figuré sur les listes des meilleures ventes et 109 ayant été largement vendus à l'international.
